HIGHER LAS PALOMAS
LAS PALOMAS can be found outside the small village of El Salto. Situated in the hills the old village of Las Palomas is built in the old style of blocks and mud, Surrounded by cactus, yuccas and aloe vera plants this is one of the oldest hamlets in Tenerife

A `must´ is the volcano of Teide.It is a strange sensation to be at sea level then to travel up over 3000mtrs in just over one hour to this fantastic landscape with all its beautiful and varying rock structures and colours. Stop at the village of Villaflor on the way,which is the highest village in Spain, and take in the stunning views.A good hike or bike ride here is to `Paisaje Lunar´which you suddenly discover inbetween the pine trees.Tenerife has many different plants and trees and at Icod they are proud of their centuries old `Drago´tree.

This is an ideal spot if you like to go walking, biking or sightseeing There are various restaurants in which to try the local cuisine.Visit the local beach of El Medano or La Tajita with its natural sand,relax at the local bars and watch the many watersports or try them yourself.
